- chapter 1 : An unexpected party

- in the first scene or chapter Bilbo is greeted by Gandalf a wizard and thirteen Dwarfs. This is an important scene because this is where they Dwarfs and Bilbo meet each other (at Bilbo's house).
- chapter 4 : over hill and under hill
- (this is a close up)
- in this scene, Bilbo and the Dwarfs see a light so they send Bilbo to see what it was. This is a key detail in the story because this is where they meet the trolls that take all of their food and supplies.
- chapter 5 : Riddles in the dark
- Gollum said "lets play a game of riddles' on PAGE 69
- Gandalf and the others go to Riverdale to find out more about Thorin's newly found weapons. This is critical information because this is were they find all about Thorin's sword
- chapter 6 : Out of the frying pan into the fire
- In this scene the Dwarfs and Gandalf are running for their life's, because Gandalf killed the goblin king and some of the goblins are chasing them away, and in the process they he dropped Bilbo and he was knocked unconscious. This is a main detail in the story because this is were Bilbo gets separated from the rest of the group and meet Gollum
- in this chapter Bilbo meets a scary monster named Gollum. it is important because in this chapter they tell each other and they challenged each other to a riddle war and if Bilbo won Gollum would have to show Bilbo the way out if not he would make his way into Gollums stomach.
- This scene shows that the Group are in trees and that Gandalf is throwing down blue fire at the Goblins and wolves. This scenes is needed to know because this is where most of the story happens is side of the forest.
