- Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls of all ages, Welcome to the H2O Water Cycle Show.
- Evaporation Lane
- A long long time ago in a land not so far away, a droplet of water was taking in the views of Niagara Falls when the sweltering sun began to beat down on her. Not long after and she felt her temperature beginning to reduce and before she could say water vapor, she found herself evaporating from the hydrosphere to the atmosphere.
- That darn solar radiation got me again....It won't be long before I am a gaseous water.
- What is happening??
- Well hey there little Miss H20 and welcome to Condensation and Precipitation Drive. Hang on tight as you are about to become liquid droplets and while things might seem a little foggy or cloudy for you right now, soon you will be back into a liquid form.
- Weee I love precipitation
- Do not worry Miss. H2O, I will take care of you. Come with me and I will take you on a journey called Transpiration. Here you will be turned into water vapor and use for photosynthesis. You will also enter the biosphere.
- As the temperatures changed and the droplets became too large, gravity took its course and they began to precipitate and fall to the earths soil.
- I did not expect to see you here Miss. H2O. I guess you ended up being runoff. This is what happens when you do not get absorbed by the soil and instead wind up in the sea, lakes or other large bodies of water.
- You sure are lucky you ended up here and not as ground water. Ground water is the water you will find in the cracks and it is a slow moving process in the geologic formations of the soil.
