- Papa, why does it appear that they do not intend to get married?
- That's what I also believe, although I've heard Esperanza wants it before the end of the month.
- INCITING INCIDENT
- Please don't feel bad; I have been in similar situations before.
- I apologize, Miss Julia. I made a mistake.

- RISING ACTION
- My apologies, I need to get some work done, and Papa usually wants me to go to Judge Del Valle.
- Why have you stopped looking forward to my arrival after church lately?
- Alfredo Salazar and Esperanza are two characters that fall in love with one another through time. Alfredo is a lawyer who believes in true love and pursues happiness in life, whereas Esperanza is ideal for everyone. The two couples are family friends who eventually fall in love. Things take a turn for the worst when Alfredo overhears his family discussing his failure to marry Esperanza at their house, as he knows to himself that he is growing disinterested in the lady.
- RISING ACTION
- I am afraid that it might be our last time to talk.
- Alfredo goes to the Judge's house with his father, where he first sees Julia. As they speak and enjoy each other's company, a bond forms between them, prompting Alfredo to focus on Julia.
- CLIMAX
- Yes, and congratulations on your marriage. I should have told you about it sooner.
- Good evening, Julia. I thought you had already left. I also heard that Judge will accompany you.
- Esperanza can now feel Alfredo's absence from her side due to the developing intimacy between him and Julia as they grow more at ease with one another. But Alfredo disputes this, telling her lover that he is merely preoccupied because of some personal issues as a result.
- When he learns of Julia's return to his hometown. Out of concern for losing Julia, Alfredo decides to try to convey his actual affection for her. But then it comes to his mind that he is bound to choose just one since he is engaged.
- Why was it so unexpected?
- Things began to heat up when Alfredo and Julia first met at night on the plaza. Alfredo's face was stunned when Julia congratulated him straight away, and he was shocked that she had already discovered the truth, which had left him helpless since he knew that this may be the last and that they would never have time for each other again.
