- Elizabeth gave birth to a son, just as they were told she would. Their neighbors saw what the Lord had done and rejoiced. On the eight day, Zechariah and Elizabeth went to the temple to have the baby circumcised. They asked what the baby shall be name and Elizabeth said, "John."
- Zechariah was able to speak after the properly had been fulfilled. He rejoiced and said" Blessed be the Lord of Israel, for he has looked favorably on his people. He has shown us mercy promised to our ancestors, and has remembered his holy covenant. And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most high; for you will prepare the people for the Lord."
- John grew and became strong in spirit. He lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel.
