- When the continental congress was formed. John Hancock, ben franklin, Tomas Jefferson and people began to discus independence . so they assigned Jefferson to write the first draft and his words inspired many people
- DELAWARE RIVER CROSSING
- The British were very powerful and has Hessians germen mercenaries, but they had to ship them across the ocean and soilders were only trained to fight in open field
- BATTLE OF SARASOTA
- The americans fought to protect their homes, the soldiers used long rifles that are more accurate. But they had a small army and they had a lack in uniforms
- Washington decided to plan a sneak attack on the British, so on December 25 in New Jersey they crossed the river and attacked the base. The plan worked the captured mercenaries and got supplies and hope they could win.
- On September 19 the two armies met on a farm and they fought. The British had no chance of winning because the Americans had destroyed the supply wagons so 10 days later General Burgonye surrendered another victory for the Americans
