Alexander III and the Golden Age

- I am going to see Princess Yolanda now.
- In 1249 a mew king got crowned. Alexander III was only 7 years of age when he was crowned.
- Alexander III had a rule known as the Golden Age because it was a time of peace and prosperity. He kept good relations with England by marrying the sister of Edward I.

- Alexander III wanted to be with Princess Yolanda in Dalmeny since his wife died 10 years before.
- On the way to Dalmeny he got caught up in a Violent Storm but he kept going on.
- At Inverkeith he got offered a bed for the night until the storm went away, but he refused because he really wanted to see Princess Yolande.
- He continued his journey with 2 guides along a narrow sea shore path. He lost his guides in the dark. The following morning he was found dead at the bottom of a cliff.
