The greeks and Odysseus make a mistake

Odysseus stays with calypso at the island

In the beginning of the story, As Odysseus and the Greeks are sailing, they eat food that they have saved in the ship but that does not last long. In the text it mentions, "But in the end, when all the barley in the ship was gone, hunger drove them to scour the wild shore with angling hooks, for fishes" (5). This explains that after starving and not having any more food that was not sheep or fish, they decided to start fishing for food.

In the middle of the story, After Odysseus and the Greeks eat the kine which they were not suppose to lord helios get angry. in the text it mentions, " In her long gown mean while had borne swift word to the Overlord of Noon :They have killed your kine.’(7). This explains that after Odysseus and the greeks feast on the kine that was off limits, the God gets angry and tries to get them in trouble with the rest of the gods.

In the end of the story, After sailing back North for 9 days, Odysseus end up on the island. In the text it mentions, "The dangerous nymph Calypso lives and sings there, in her beauty, and she received me, loved me(10). This explains that after going through the disaster all over again, he finally ends up at the island and is loved.
