  • This unit is designed for an IB gifted class that will be challenged through project based learning. It focuses on the concept relationships specifically on Human-Environment Interaction.
  • Students will inquire about the ancient civilizations (Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, & China) and how geography impacted the society.
  • Mesopotamia Students will complete 3 centers that will allow them to identify the negative and positive effects the Tigris & Euphrates Rivers had on the ancient Mesopotamia civilization.
  • Ancient Egypt Students will interactively analyze primary sources to draw conclusion on what role did geography play in the everyday life of ancient Egyptians.
  • Ancient India Students will analyze ancient artifacts to identify and describe how regions in Northern India may have developed differently than in southern India based on geography.
  • Ancient China Students will complete centers to explain how humans modify and adapt to their environment to survive.
