Sure, I'll ask my Mom if i could spend the night on your house.
Hey Liam, wanna come over and prepare for the exam tomorrow?
I'm glad that your mom let you spend the night here, now i won't be studying alone.
Me too, i'm so glad that i have someone to study with me. So the exam for tomorrow is about the discovery of cell.
So what preparations do you have for the upcoming exam?
We'll be watching a documentary about Robert Hooke, the Scientist who discovered the existence of cell.
Then let's begin!
The cell was first discovered and named by Robert Hooke in 1665. He remarked that it looked strangely similar to cellular or small rooms which monks inhabited, thus deriving the name. However, Hooke actually saw the dead cell walls of plant cells (Cork) as they appeared under the microscope.
When he observed thin slices of cork (part of bark of a tree) under a self-designed microscope, he noticed that there are many partitioned boxes or compartments like a honeycomb. Each box was seperated from the other by a wall. Hooke coined the term "cell" for each box.
That documentary was amazing, who would've thought that Robert Hooke would discover the existence of cell just because of a cork.
Yeah right, because pf that documentary i feel more prepared for the exam tomorrow, i feel like i can ace the exam.
