- African Americans were taken from their homes and being enslaved in America and they were treated as property without rights.
- Over almost a century and with a civil war, slavery was finally banned in 1865 with the 13th amendment, and no one was allowed to be enslaved.
- We are finally free!
- There were countless people who contributed but a main contributor was Frederick Douglass
- Frederick Douglass was an escaped slave who described the conditions of slavery to people and he was a major leader in the abolitionist movement. 
- This must end!
- These people aren't being treated as humans, they are being treated as property! Men, women, and children are being taken from their homes!
