- Sarah got her kite on top of a tree. She knows she’s 70 cm away from the tree at an angle of 7º, she doesn't know the height of the tree. Making the following education, Tan(7)=o70Sara found out that the height of the tree is 8.6 cm tall.
- Sara decides to throw something at the kite for it to come down, so she gets close to the tree. Now she’s 31 cm away from the tree, the height of the tree is 8.6cm , she must find the angle. With the following equation, Tan (?) = 8.631She found that the angle is 15.5º.
- It was a windy day, so the kite flew away to the top of a tree house. Now Sarah will have to use SohCahToa again.
- Sarah knows the tree house is 57 cm tall and the angle is 34º. She needs to find out the hypotenuse to know how far she will have to throw the ball to bring the kite down. Using the following education Sin(34)= 57h, figuring out that the hypotenuse is equal to 101.9 m.
- Now that Sarah knows how far she needs to throw the ball to bring the kit down, she can recover her kite and continue playing with it.
