- President Thomas Jefferson was looking for ways to expand the United States, French have been fighting wars with Britain. Thomas Jefferson said 15 million and the French thought it was cheap but they took the deal along with expanding United States territory.

- Lewis and Clark traveled only a little bit of their 8,000 mile. As they only traveled 200 miles they said it was a wonderful place and lot of wildlife and wild berries. They loved the land a lot.
