  • So basically photosynthesis happens when water, CO2, and the suns energy all come together to create glucose. All of this happens within the Chloroplasts of cells. Did you get all of that?
  • Uh huh...
  • Right then, Photosynthesis involves 2 stages. First, the Light-Dependent reactions. These require light (obviously) and water, it then produces Oxygen, ATP, and NADPH.
  • Independent... water... oxy- Oki go on..
  • Then there is the light-INDEPENDENT reactions. These dont require liht, but instead needs the ATP and NADPH from ealier to produce high-energy sugars and carbohydrates.
  • uh... what abot cellular respiration?
  • Oh ye... uhh.. Cellular Respiration happens within the Mitochondria. Its a 3 stage proccess that starts with Glycolosis. It takes Glucose and converts it into 2 molecules of Pyruvic acid. ATP and NADPH is also made durng this.
  • uh huhh uh huhh..
  • Stage 2 is called the Krebs Cycle. Pyruvic acid from Glycolosis is used to make NADPH and ATP, with CO2 as a by-product.
  • Finally stage 2, called Electron Transport Chain, takes produces from Krebs cycle and Glycoosis to synthesize ATP and NADPH. Its made up of Electron Carriers insdie of the Mitochondria. In total, 1 molecule of glucose in Cellular respiration releases about 36 molecules of ATP.
