  • Jim picked up the metal pole and was starting to threaten Maddy to hit her endlessly with it. Maddy wasn't going to put up with his abusive behavior anymore, she had to something about it. She was thinking of what she could do if he actually tried to hit her. They were both just standing there in painful silence, while Maddy anticipated Jim to swing the pole.
  • Jim lunged at maddy with the metal pole in hand, aiming for her stomach. Maddy reacted to her fathers actions and managed to grab onto the pole before it came in contact with her. She pulled it away from her dad and slammed it on the ground. It hit the ground with a loud "BANG" and Jim stormed away angrily. Maddy was proud of herself for finally being able to stand up for herself for the first time.
  • From this incidient, Maddy learnt that she can stand up for herself, and that it feels good when she does. She also learnt that it's okay for her to talk back to her dad if he is doing something that could be harmful to her. She is now proud of herself.
