- Ponyboy and Johnny go on a walk to cool off after Darry hits Ponyboy. They run into Bob and his friends.
- Get back here!
- Oof!
- Ponyboy and Johnny get jumped by Bob and his friends.
- Bob shoves Ponyboy into the fountain and starts drowning him.
- Johnny runs to help Ponyboy. He pulls out his switch blade.
- Johnny doesn't hesitate to stab Bob. He kills him there.
- Bob's friends drive away, and Ponyboy and Johnny decide to run away. They go meet Dally, and he supplies them with stuff. He tells them to go to the abandoned church.
