- Hello kids, mine name is Carl and I have been working in the fine coal mining institution for years. Coal is a nonrenewable resource. What makes coal so great is how cheap it is to convert into energy. However, when burning coal, it releases a significant amount of carbon dioxide into the environment, which is a leading factor in climate change.
