  • "Penelope's Test"
  • "'Make up his bed for him Eurycleia. Place it outside the bedchamber my lord. Built with his own hands. Pile the big bed with fleeces, rugs, and sheets of purest linen (Homer 1561-1565).'"

  • How dare you! No one can move that bed!
  • At the start of , "Penelope's Test", by Homer, Odysseus arrives home after 20 years of being away. After his many adventures. He is excited to see his wife, Penelope.
  • Odysseus, do not rage at me! I didn't think it was really you.
  • Penelope shows comes to the door and doesn't believe her eyes. He husband, who has been gone for 20 years. So she makes up a lie, which is that she will move his bed, made around an olive oak tree, that no one can move but Odysseus.
  • I've missed you too, Penelope!
  • I've missed you, Odysseus!
  • Odysseus gets mad because, "An old trunk of olive grew on the building plot (Homer 1580)..." So he tells her that no one can move that bed no matter what.
  • Penelope realizes this is the real Odysseus, not a fake like before. She tells him not to be mad anymore and how she knows it's really him now.
  • They make amends. Penelope is ecstatic Odysseus is back. Odysseus is happy that he can be with his wife again. That is how the story ends.
