Today we are going to learn how to say please with our voices.
Help From Braidwood.
Would you like to work together and create a school for death people in the US?
No.
On The Hunt
Here we go!
In 1775 the first free school was founded in Paris by Abbe Charles Michel de L'Eppe. This concept of death schools spread over the European Countries.
A Warm Welcome
Welcome to Paris and our school!
Gallaudet had a goal, and it was to establish a school in Hartford to serve all death people in the US. He was not successful in getting help from Braidwood Academy.
An Agreement
I cant wait!
In 1816 Gallaudet desperate to accomplish his goal he sailed off to paris.
Goal Achieved
We did it!!!
When Gallaudet arrived in Paris he was greeted with a warm welcome at the institute. Gallaudet realized he didn't have enough time to master everything he needed to learn for the death.
Gallaudet finally met Clerc, who agreed to travel and be a teacher at the school. Sicard agreed to loan Clerc for three years.
When they arrived in the states they began raising funds for the school. The American Asylum For the Instruction of Death and Dumb Persons opened on April 15, 1817.
