- The Conflict is when trout Walker kills Sam, Mary Lou also dies, but that isn't the main conflict.
- Falling Action
- Kate Barlow kisses Sam. He is not allowed to because she is white and he is black.
- Resolution
- Kissin Kate Barlow kills the sheriff because he wouldn't do anything when Trout Walker destroyed the school house
- Kissin Kate Barlow digs a hole and burred her treasure
- Kate Barlow dies in the desert because a yellow spotted lizard bit her, she also died laughing knowing that the Walkers and their descendants would never find her treasure that she hid.
