  • Eric and Mark are working at the same company. They are from the marketing department. Eric and Mark needs to lead their teams to do a project. But as a leader, Eric was lack of communication given while the other team members not understanding.
  • How can we continue to our project?

  • Eric’s project was to do a giveaway contest for the customers. He assigns his team members to come up with a plan. However, the team members had trouble coming up with a plan, as they were confused since Eric gave too little information on his idea. And whenever they asked him questions about his opinions regarding their plan, he answered with unclear answers making others even more confused and frustrated, and things started to go wrong from them.
  • Don't be depressed. Let's think about how to complete the project quickly.
  • The communication was spread poorly from Eric to Mark due to their miscommunication and conflict. They have a lot of conflict and doubts because they don't know what saying is right or not and whether it will offend the public or not. So the upper level manager will interrupt their conversation and try to find a solution for this problem.
  • Since Eric and Mark are having misconception issue because of that the whole plan is not able to complete. The plan causes a lot of conflict and each of the members was frustrated and the high level manager started criticising that both sides are not positive about this plan anymore and started to increase the pressure among the staff members.
  • The project had to be postponed and both Eric and Mark had to eventually leave the project as it gets passed on to the other staffs to continue their work. The other staff members no longer has any interest to continue. So the upper level manager will have to interrupt their conversation and try to find a solution for their problems.
  • Above all we discussed the common communication barriers within an organization. The problems highlighted above was misconception, miscommunication, too little information and the lack of knowledge. By pinpointing this problem the organization can then reduce the chances of this mistakes happening in the future.
