Jane arrives at Lowood school from her cruel cousins’ house where she has been an orphan. Her aunt, Miss Reed has sent her there.
Jane becomes a governess for the residents of Thornfield Hall. She teaches a young french girl calledAdelè Varens. She has not seen or heard from the master of the house, Mr Rochester
Jane eventually meets Mr Rochester and begins to develop a relationship with him. When she starts to hear noises and banging late at night, she is told it is just her imagination, but the noises continue
Jane is about to marry Rochester when 2 men run in and interrupt, they explain that Rochester can not marry as he is already married to Mr Mason's (right)sister, Bertha Mason.
Jane immediately rushes away from the wedding, Rochester runs after her. Jane is disgusted that she was never told about his wife. Rochester rushes everyone back to Thornfield, to explain his insane wife who has caused the laughing and banging at night.
Jane runs away from Thornfield Hall. She goes in a random direction and almost dies of starvation while alone. Eventually she is found by a vicar, he lets Jane stay at his home and, while there she receives news that she has inherited 20,00 from her dead uncle
