- - Before the Spanish came, the Aztecs were already thriving and were powerful- Cortes arrived with 500 of his soldiers
- Spanish Attacks
- - The Aztecs believed their god, Quetzalcoatl would return with light skin, red hair and light eyes- By the time Cortes arrived, the Aztecs were already in control of most of present-day Mexico
- Europe Brings a disease
- - The Dpaniards were trying to pursue their religion, Christianity- The Aztecs didn't understand and weren't bowing so the Spaniards thought they weren't obeying and started attacking them
- Trading
- - Cortes took the Aztec leader, Montezuma, as hostage- A bridge collapsed causing a pause to the Aztec's and Spanishs' battle
- - 3 out of 4 percent of the natives died from eitheer a disease or violence - The Spanish destroyed Tenochititlan and built Mexico City ontop of the ruins
- - The Europeans introduced animas such as horses, sheep, pigs, etc- The Spanish brought tomatoes, potatoes, beans etc, and changed the Europeans' diet
