  • The Adventures of Plant Organelle:Summative AssessmentPlant CellBy Adrian Lozada
  • Oh no! My plant buddy is dying. Lets see what's happening to him.
  • Oh my lord!! Look at its cells they are so cool.
  • First off the cell wall that helps the plant stay still and be able to stand straight. It is made out of chains of sugar molecules. Oh no, it looks like the cell wall has been poked and has a hole! It looks very damaged.
  • The cell wall has broken and a tsunami of water is entering the cell wall! Beware organelles we have to fight back! Our house in under attack.
  • The GateKeeper / The Cell Membrane
  • Next is the cell membrane aka the plasma membrane. The cell membrane is the light blue thing around the cytoplasm, it controls what can go in or out of the cell. It also gets rid of waste products
  • Inside of me you can find the genetic code which gives the information needed for the ribosomes create protein for the cell
  • I am the nucleus the control center or brain of the cell. We are under attack our wall has been destroyed. It is my task to activate the organelles and guide them to repair. Do not worry we are prepared for the attack!
  • Quick! These proteins are needed in the ER
  • Ribosomes are the doctors of the cells. They help re-build the broken proteins by making new ones. The ribosomes are working hard to repair the broken cell wall.
  • RIBOSOMES
  • ER
  • Endoplasmic Reticulum reporting for duty! I am ready to pack some cell wall proteins. Nucleus give me coordinates.
  • The endoplasmic reticulum acts as the cell's way of transporting what is created for the cell from the ribosome. It is like the organizers of the cell.
  • ER
  • I am running out of energy I need help from my fellow organelles!
  • 1.5.4800.367
  • Up next is the Green chloroplast. This part of the cell is like the kitchen because it produces and provides food for the cell. What makes a leaf green is the green pigment inside of the chloroplast
  • ENERGY!!!
  • The Green Chloroplast is very important to repair this cell that is poked and damaged by salt water because it gives the other organelles energy to work and stay alive.
  • ER
  • The big light blue thing in the cell is the vacuoles
  • Another very important part of the cell is the vacuoles. The vacuoles are basically the fridge of the cell because it is where the food, and liquids are stored. Another thing the vacuole is useful for is to dispense waste out of the cell. There is only one bad thing about the vacuoles is that it is massive. The vacuoles can sometimes take up almost all of the cell
  • This part of the cell the vacuoles will help improve the damaged cell by storing the food so the organells can eat and also to get ride of waste that is not needed in the cell.
  • All in a days work for the crew of plant organelle. Ready to fight whatever might come next.
