Storyboard Text

  • Hmm, there is a note on the counter. I wonder who it is from.
  • It's a note from my mom! "Dhruva, while I am away at work today, I want you to take care of the house and do lots of chores. I heard you are learning about states of matter in school so I made it that you learn about the states of matter in all of your tasks."
  • I have to do EXTRA chores?! How is that fair! I just want to relax. I guess I'll get started...
  • 1. Go get an ice cube out from the freezer and put it on a plate. Then open the computer on the kitchen table and read the article saved on it about solids.
  • Okay so I got the ice cube. Now all I need to do is read about solids.
  • Solids have a definite shape and definite volume. Particles in a solid are compact and are very close together. The particles in a solid have a very strong attraction, meaning they stick together. The particles of a solid vibrate in place. Solids do not possess fluidity as they are rigid. When heat energy is added, the particles move faster and move farther apart and the solid eventually becomes a liquid. if heat energy is removed, the particles get closer and closer and move slower and slower.
