- here we can see a population of 6 birds, 3 of them are different, smaller and faster, this is because of genetic variation which is produced by genetic mutations, the bird who is born with an altered DNA sequence reproduces and passes it down
- After a while a predator comes which is the plane, since the smaller birds fly lower they are not affected by the plane but the bigger birds are killed by it
- Only the smaller birds survived, the traits that they got from the genetic mutation gave them an advantage on their enviroment and where able to survive from the predator. this is called natural selection
- Now we can see that the smaller birds reproduced, they were able to do that at first because when they were born with the mutation it was on the sex cells and meiosis so they were able to pass down their advantageous trait to survive on their habitat. The big birds do not exist anymore
- As the population grows and the birds keep reproducing more mutations appear and now there are 2 birds that were born with a changed phenotype and they are now 2 white birds.
- another predator appears and eats most of the small birds exept one and the whire ones. the white birds were born already with an advantageous trait that could make them camuflate in the clouds, they were already adapted for the situation. In conclusion overtime the population of birds showed evolution and adaptation to survive in its enviroment depending of the conditions and even tho they are a prey they could survive because of their traits
