  • Scylla and CharybdisBy: Aiden Goss
  • On the way home, Odysseus and his men encounter giant jagged rocks that block their path. Which no ship before them had passed, except for the mighty Argonauts. So they must choose, left or right?
  • We need to go around!
  • But on either side of the rocks lays a beast. Either the six-headed monster Scylla that cannot be defeated in battle that will devour one of Odysseus's men for every head it has.
  • I will have to eat six of your men mwahaha
  • Or the giant whirlpool monster Charybdis, that swallows everything remotely close to it three times a day, and will flip their ship if they try to pass.
  • I will flip your whole ship >:)
  • Odysseus then thinks on the situation, trying to get as many men back home as possible while preserving his own life. He then ponders on the outcomes of either situation with the decision to risk the entire ship going down, or risking the lives of six of his men to escape.
  • Charybdis will endanger us all...
  • Odysseus then comes to the decision that he must sacrifice six of his crew members to preserve the rest and not risk losing the ship to Charybdis. But to quell the risk of panic, he keeps it to himself.
  • I must not tell them i have chosen Scylla, if so everyone will panic....
