  • A sub-plot is a secondary plot in a story or play.In this example, the superhero finding love would be the sub-plot because fighting the villian is the main story
  • An analogy is a comparison of two different things that are similar in some way.In this example, the mom is comparing a box of chocolates to life.
  • An inference is an educated guess someone can draw from details.The man in the example is making an inference based on the woman's reaction
