  • I want to share two methods of baking a cake with you guys.
  • What are we baking?
  • HOORAYY!!!!LETS GET STARTED
  • The creaming method is used for most cakes, but it’s also used for a lot of biscuits and chocolate chip cookies.
  • One method is creamingThe method requires thorough creaming, or blending together, of butter and sugar before any other ingredient is added.During the creaming, it is important to keep going until the butter and sugar mix is pale, light and creamy.
  • The rubbing-in method is used for crumble toppings, some pastries and of course, scones.
  • Another method is the rubbing method. The process works by the fat, usually butter, being worked into the flour by a method of rubbing the pieces through the fingers. This will create a bread crumbs or sand - like texture.
  • Today we are going to make a banana cake using the creaming method
  • WHAT DO WE NEED!
  • RIPE BANANAS OFCOURSE!
  • We will need 4 oz. flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda1/4 tsp. salt1 egg1 ripe banana 2 oz. soft butter5 oz. sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla
