- One cause is when human activities increase the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and it retains more heat than necessary, causing the average temperature of the planet to increase and global warming occurs.
- Another cause could also be the clearing of forests to create farms or pastures, or for other reasons, it causes emissions, since the trees, when cut, release the carbon they have been storing. As forests absorb carbon dioxide, its destruction also limits nature's ability to keep emissions out of the atmosphere.
