- Macbeth sees an imaginary floating dagger and it is a representaion of his internal feeling of guilt for what he is about to do with his dagger.

- King duncan lays dead in a puddle of blood after being murddered by Macbeth in his room.
- Macbeth blames sons
- It was them
- Macbeth kills the gaurds so they don't incriminate him and convinces everyone he did it out of anger.

- The kings sons flee due to a fear of being the target of the next murder.
- Macbeth uses them running away as a reason to presume them as guilty for their fathers murder.
