- Victor Frankenstein's brother drowns and dies. William's death devastates Victor and he resorts to finding the possibility of creating life
- CONFCONFLICTLICT
- He goes back to advance his study in London and meets Dr. Henry Clerval. Frankenstein discovered the secret of bringing things to life through Dr. Henry.

- Victor discovers the now-repulsive arm in Clerval's laboratory cabinet and understands the procedure has a fault. He smashes the malformed limb, but notices that the Creature is suffering from the same issue. Victor quickly sees that the deterioration is unstoppable.

- Dr. Henry died before they would finish 'creating life' together using body parts from a graveyard. He went ahead and assembled a "creature" who came to life. .
- Mrs. Blair , Victor's landlady, dies of shock after seeing the Creature, so Victor joins him in the laboratory. He considers annihilating the Creature, but he can't bring himself to do so. The Creature becomes aware of his disfigured looks and makes a failed suicide attempt.
- He then runs away from the lab and dives into the water. Victor assumes the Creature is no longer alive and concludes that it is probably for the best. The Creature is found unhurt on the shore
