- Battles of Saratoga
- The failure of the American invasion to Canada left a lot of British troops by the St. Lawrence river in 1777. They moved south to join forces with Sir William Howes troops.
- In the first battle, many british armies were killed in the open fields. The British won over the field, but the Americans had half the amount of injuries the british had.

- Burgoyne decided he could ot wait anyh longer and on October 7th, he launched another attack without the reinforcements.
- I can not wait any longer!

- When the british attacked, the Americans began to falter. But Benedict Arnold appeard on horseback with other troops. The british got overwhelmed and began to retreat. Finally on October 17, Burgoyne surrendered.
- The battle of Saratoga helped persuade the french in recongnizing Americas independence and to give military assistance when needed.
