  • "No one he knew could bring in mustangs by themselves, but Bob could make horses think he was one of them." 
  • Rising Action 1
  • Bob and his horse Warrior are looking for horse tracks to find the mustangs that live in the plains and bring the back to the corral.
  • Rising Action 2
  • Bob and Warrior must work to get the Mustang herd to accept them. They must track and follow the herd closely, but patiently wait for the right time to establish leadership of the herd.
  • Climax
  • When a storm starts on the plains, Warrior and Bob race to a nearby ravine/cave and they spot a herd of wild mustangs from inside.
  • Falling Action/Resolution
  • Bob and Warrior sneak into the mustang herd because the stallion has accepted them. They experience the death of a colt from a rattlesnake.
  • Bob and Warrior decided to take over the herd after the death of the colt because Bob knew the stallion wasn't ready to fight so soon after the death of the colt.
  • Bob and Warrior took over the herd and led them to the corral where they are going to be held in captivity and used for work. Bob wishes he and Warrior could run free with the mustangs forever.
