- Brian's parents are getting a divorce because of the secret. The secret that his dad didn't know. Brian's mom was driving him to the plane that would take him to his dad. He was going to spend the summer with him in the north woods of Canada. Brian was mad at his mom. He didn't want them to get divorced.
- A Hatchet
- I got something for you. You could use it in the woods with your father.Hook it on your belt.
- Brian was the only passenger on the plane.
- Get in the copilot's seat.
- The pilot seemed to be in pain. He kept rubbing his chest and left arm.
- The pilot had a heart attack!!! He's dead....
- bad aches here... thought it was something I ate but.... I've never had anything like this.
- Chest! oh, God my Chest is coming apart!
- Brian tried to get help on the radio but kept loosing the signal and didn't know where he was. He played with the dials until he had some idea of being able to control the plane at least a little. He decided he couldn't let the plane land in the trees. It would rip the plane apart. It needed to land in a lake. Then the plane ran out of gas and was going down. He tried to steered towards the water.
- Going to die, gonna die.
- The plane crashed into some trees and then into the lake.
- Brian survived the crash. His body was hurting all over, but nothing was broken. There he was alone in the woods with nothing but his hatchet to try to survive. Still he thought of his mom's secret and the divorce. He planned on telling his dad the secret if they ever found him. He blamed his mom. None of this would have even happened if it weren't for her secret.
- What am I going to do? How am I going to survive? Someone will find me in a day or two.... I'll just have to make it a few days until then.
