In !907 she started planning the national trade and professional School for woman and girls
She lived With her mother in washington d.c.,her father passed when she was still a small child She was born in 1879
She would teach black woman more than just domestic skills and advocated for greater civil rights and woman rights
She was part of the national baptist convention and she had a backing from he the baptist to build her school.
She had funding through getting donations from children and woman from her neighborhood
When she died in 1961 the school she built was renamed after her name Nannie helen burroughs school for women
