- ALAS! I HAVE DONE IT! I HAVE CREATED MY VERY OWN MICROSCOPE. I CAN FINALLY SEE THE WORLD FROM ANOTHER VIEW.
- Netherlands science lab, 1600s
- When I look into the device, I see small objects that look almost like tiny animals!
- You must share your ideas with the world! Why don't you send this to Hooke, your French colleague? I am sure he would love your ideas.
- I have received a letter from my colleague in the Netherlands. It seems he has discovered animalcules, but when I look into the microscope, I see tiny little cells! I will write him a letter back and inform him on my findings.
- Dear Hooke, I have discovered that when I look into my microscope, I see animalcules. I sent over a microscope for you to determine what they are!
- Hooke would like me to come visit him! Maybe we can share our work with other scientists too. I better pack my bags!
- Dear Fellow Colleague,I received your letter and found that these animalcules are actually cells. Why don't you come visit me in France and we can discuss these cells further?
- Time to begin my voyage to France! I cannot wait to hear Hooke's ideas.
- Hello! I put a cork under the microscope and I found that what we are observing is a cell!
