  • Prompter verbally says the word Bike and place the PECS card in the book as the child watches.

  • Guide child to pick up Bike PECS card and place it on the book. Verbally repeat the word as prompter guides child.
  • Direction: Game is played by deciding on the most appropriate actions for both teacher and prompter to take to introduce child to PECS. The order of characters and actions matters in this game. Rule: Before choosing an action, player has to decide whether player wants to choose an action for teacher or prompter first.
  • Teacher's response: Give the bike (reinforcement) to the child since child successfully uses PECS to communicate#160;

  • Teacher's response: Ask child to try using PECS independently, then he can have the toy bike.
  • Types of Actions:Choose a Character- Player will be given the options to choose to engage with prompter/ teacher first.Choose an Action- Player will choose what the chosen character do to help the child. Player will have 30 seconds to choose an action.

  • Consequences: If a player chooses the incorrect character / action, or character AND action, it will lead to a different scenario that prompts player to retry.In this scenario, player has chosen the correct character and action. Player gets to advance in engaging the other character.

  • Ending the Game: When player successfully chooses the correct order of characters and actions, they will get to advance to the last scene where they can see the result of their choices.
