Storyboard Text

  • Act I: Scene ii
  • "Beware the Ides of March."(Act I: ii: 18)
  • Act II: Scene i
  • "Sir, 'tis your brother Cassius at the door, who doth desire to see you."(Act II: i: 70)
  • Act III: Scene i
  • "Et tu, Brute? Then fall Caesar."(Act III: i: 79)
  • In Act I: scene i, the soothsayer tells Caesar to beware the ides of March. Caesar thinks he is foolish. I believe that Caesar should have listened. If he would have, he might have been able to survive.
  • Act IV: Scene iii
  • "Cassius you yourself are much condemned to have an itching palm. "(Act VI: iii: 9-12)
  • In Act II: scene i, Cassius and the conspirators go to find Brutus. Lucius tells Brutus that his brother is there to see him. They want his help. They think he needs to be a part of the conspiracy. Brutus is conflicted but joins eventually.
  • Act V: Scene iii
  • "O Cassius, Brutus gave the word too early."(Act V: iii: 5)
  • In Act III: i, the conspirators find Caesar. They get him alone so they can go through with their plan to kill Caesar. Brutus stabs Caesar after the other conspirators. Caesar feels betrayed by Brutus and dies.
  • Theme
  • "Why com'st thou?"(Act VI: iii: 282)
  • In Act VI: iii, Cassius believes that Brutus has done him wrong. He says that Brutus has condemned Lucius for taking bribes of the Sardians. Brutus tells him he has an itching palm. They argue and forgive each other after talking it out.
  • In Act V: iii, Brutus gave the word of battle too early. Titinus says that Brutus has an advantage while cassius does not. Cassius is scared that he won't be able to do as well. Then Pindarus comes to tell Cassius to "fly off".
  • I believe the theme of this story is that violence isn't always the answer. I don't think killing Caesar, the war, or the suicides were necessary. Caesar could've become a problem but murder is extreme in my opinion. He thought they loved him to where he wouldn't be killed. In Act VI, the ghost of Caesar visits Brutus. He says Brutus will see him again at Phillipi. At the end of the war, Brutus says "Caesar now be still". He didn't have any personal hate towards Caesar, therefore the murder was unnecessary.
  • "To tell thee thou shalt see me at Phillipi."(Act VI: iii:283)
