- Line is a mark made using a drawing tool orbrush. There are many types of lines: thick,thin, horizontal, vertical, zigzag, diagonal, curly,curved, spiral, etc. and are often veryexpressive. Lines are basic tools forartists—though some artists show their linesmore than others.
- a shape can be defined as the form of anobject or its outline, outer boundary or outersurface. Everything we see in the worldaround us has a shape.
- hue is one of the main properties (called colorappearance parameters) of a color, definedtechnically in the CIECAM02 model as "the degree towhich a stimulus can be described as similar to ordifferent from stimuli that are described as red,orange, yellow, green, blue, violet," which in certaintheories of color vision are called unique hues
- The lightness or darkness of a color is calledits value. You can find the values of a colorby making its tints and shades. Tints are lightvalues that are made by mixing a color withwhite. For example, pink is a tint of red, andlight blue is a tint of blue. Shades are darkvalues that are made by mixing a color withblack.
