- My Name is Parvana is the fourth and final book in a series called The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis. It is a fictional book that takes place in Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban in 2001. It is about a 15 year old girl named Parvana.

- Parvana is interrogated by American police because she is suspected to be a terrorist working for the Taliban after being found in a bombed school. She decides to remain silent, even as they go through her bag and diary.

- In the cell where she is kept, Parvana realizes that she has a warm place to stay, free food, available water, a toilet, and a comfy bed. She is constantly being bothered by the authorities trying to get her to talk, but she stays silent through more questioning.

- Flashback
- As she waits for the American authorities to determine her fate, Parvana has flashbacks to the past four years of her life when she and her family started a school for girls. In this flashback, the government is opening the school.

- Parvana loves to teach, but being an ordinary student is not enough for her. She tries to balance being a student and a teacher but she struggles. She does not like multiplying fractions specifically.
