  • Hi! Welcome to the Tour of the Indus River Valley Civilization. The Valley is in modern day Pakistan, beside the Indus River. The Civilization began around 5,000 years ago.
  • The homes in the Indus Civilization were made out of dried mud bricks, each one the exact same size as the other, because molds were used to make the bricks. these were important because they kept them safe in their environment
  • The Civilization had very impressive irrigation and sewage technology. They had sewers that ran through their town that took out all the dirty water from bathing and cleaning. These advancements were important for the future of sewage and irrigation tech.
  • Often the Indus cities had a great bath in it. We aren't sure what they were for, but we believe they could have either been used like the swimming pools we had today, or like a spiritual cleaning place with their religion. Either way, it seemed quite important to the Indus valley people.
  • There have been seals, like this one, found in the Indus River Valley. They were used for labelling things, probably for trade. they must have been important for keeping track of trade.
  • Trade was an important way for the Indus people to get good they couldn't get on their own. They often traded goods by sea with other places near them.
  • Thank you for coming on my tour of the Indus Valley Civilization! Cya next time!
