  • The disease started in Central Asia and was spread by Mongol warriors and traders, and the rats carried the disease on ship to the Crimean peninsula.

  • The disease in now in Europe, carried from Italy by rats on trading ships from the black sea.
  • Im sweating a ton, I hope I'm sweating the disease out.
  • The chickens starting to get sick. It's taking the disease out of the noble.
  • The plague spread quickly and had significant effects on the European society. There was a shortage on farmers and natural resources, which resulted in economic struggles for Medieval Europe.

  • Different religions blamed each other and fought over the cause of the disease. Most Christians blamed the plague among the European Jews. Many people also thought it was a punishment from God based on their sinful actions. Neither the Christians or Muslims believed the disease was contagious, and they both thought it was sent to specific people, and could be cured with religious actions.
  • During the 14th century Europe experienced great prosperity. At this point, one third of the population of the continent had died. There was no centralized government, so the Roman citizens looked to the Lord for protection and justice.
