- Katniss was prepared to face the consequences after showing the dress off to the citizens as a sign of rebellion. She felt empowered and amazed when the dress shot up in flames and became like a mocking jay. She is shocked at how well Cinna did making the dress to look like a mocking jay.
- President Snow is trying to convince people from all the districts that the games are not bad, and that Katniss and Peeta is on his side about the games. When the dress transforms into looking like a mocking jay which is a sign of rebelling against the capitol, he becomes very angry and is not happy with Katniss.
- The crowd was shocked at first but then they all started cheering after they realized what it was symbolizing. Some started whistling, which those people probably were killed for doing that, so people were so moved they were putting there lives on the line in order to join Katniss. All the citizens were mad at President Snow and the capitol after this, causing Snow to lose a bit of control over the citizens.
