  • Okay… I’m trying to work on this project, but I just don’t get the story of Moses!
  • …All of it? 😁
  • Hey Becca, how are you?
  • I can help! What part do you not understand?
  • Messaging Al Simons 555-0123
  • Good, you Al?
  • Okay, lets start with the back story...
  • The pharaoh rules Egypt, however there are more Israelites than Egyptians and that means he doesn’t have enough power. So, he enslaves the Israelites, and enforces a punishment on them by drowning every first-born son.
  • Right, and Moses’s -the main character in my story- mother doesn’t want him to be drown, so she sends him in a basket, down the Nile River in hopes he’ll find a better life.
  • Exactly! Then, the Pharaohs daughter accepts him as her own, and he grows up as an Egyptian.
  • How does God not get serious burns?
  • The burning bush is more of a representation of gods undying love and presence- it doesn’t actually burn!
  • One day, Moses is leading a flock of sheep up Horeb, the mountain of God, and God appears to him, in the form of a burning bush!
  • This is the part in the story where Moses takes off his sandals cause he’s standing on Holy ground!
  • This is called The Call, and is the first book of Exodus ,and first third of the story.
  • That right! And then God tells Moses that him and the Israelites are the chosen ones, and that Moses will lead the Israelites out of slavery and into the promised land.
  • He particularly thinks Aaron should do it because he’s strong and confident unlike himself!
  • In the second book of Exodus, Moses doubts God choice and his worthiness for the task ahead of him.
  • Yes, but, God has plans and trusts Moses for this task. So, Moses lead the Israelites to Mount Sanai out of slavery and into justice.
