  • Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.(Matthew 22:4)
  • Long ago, Jesus travelled to the land of Jerusalem, and encountered Jewish authorities. One of the few parables he told them. Jesus starts by comparing the Kingdom of Heaven to a King who prepared a Wedding Banquet for his son.
  • The Guest's Reactions
  • How dare you!
  • Please... no!
  • The King sent servants to tell the others who where invited to the banquet, to come. However, they refused the invitation and left.
  • The King's Reaction
  • In the kingdom...
  • The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.(Matthew 22:8-9)
  • Because of this, the King, again, ordered servants to tell the invited guests to attend the wedding banquet. Unfortunately, they declined the invitation, but also had severe reactions.
  • The Man Not Wearing Proper Clothes
  • Why are you here without wedding clothes?
  • Some of the guests ignored the servants, and went off to their fields and businesses. However, there were other people, as a reaction, who ended up mistreating and killing the King's servants.
  • The following day...
  • The King was furious, so he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and their city. He then instructed his servants to go out into the corners of the streets and invite anyone to his son's wedding banquet. The servants did what he said. The servants invited all types of people, the good and the bad. The banquet was then filled with guests.
  • Yes sir!
  • When the King looked around in the wedding hall, he found a man not wearing wedding clothes, which the man was speechless. This led the King to ask the man why he wasn't wearing any clothes. He then ordered his servants to tie him up by feet and hands, throw the man outside, where there will be weeping and crying present. His lesson was that people would be invited, but few are chosen.
  • OOPS!
  • How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?(Matthew 22:12)
