- CLIMATE CHANGE
- Since the 20th century the Earth's climate has been changing, as temperatures are increasing
- With more carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air, which is a greenhouse gas, the greenhouse effect increases
- Greenhouse Effect
- The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon that traps the Sun's heat in the Earth, keeping the planet warm
- The elevated amount of CO2 is trapping more heat, which is why the planet is getting warmer and warmer
- Not only that, but it also causes sea level rise, heat waves and droughts
- Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, increased the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
- One of the effects of the climate change is the loss of sea ice, which is my home!
- Climate Change is a global concern!!!
- One of the UN's measures to combat this issue were:- the creation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - the Paris Agreement (2015) which is a legally binding international treaty on climate change.SPEAK UP FOR OUR PLANET!
