- CharacterThe protagonist in this story is Katniss Everdeen. She is from District 12. She is shy and tries not to interact with the rest of the world. She is very independent and takes care of her sister and mother. Her favorite thing to do is hunting. 
- CharacterPeeta Mellark is the protagonist's love interest. He is also from District 12. He is friendly and a lot of people like him. He has muscles and is strong because he lifts heavy bags of flour. He is not as poor as Katniss since his family owns a bakery.
- SettingThe setting of "The Hunger Games" arena changes every year. This year the Hunger Games are in a forest. It can be super cold at night, but it can also have a lot of humidity. The whole saga of "The Hunger Games" happens in a post-apocalyptic North America in the future. The majority of the people live in extreme poverty.
- ConflictThe conflict in "The Hunger Games" is that every year a male and female tribute from every District has to go to an arena and fight until death. This year Katniss's sister is chosen, so she volunteers for her sister.
- I Volunteer as a tribute!
- ClimaxThe climax in "The Hunger Games" is when the Capitol decides to change the rule that said that it could be two winners if they were some the same District.
- Only ONE winner!!!
- ThemeThe theme of "The Hunger Games" is to stand up for what you believe it's right. In this scene, Katniss doesn't believe that changing the rules at the end is correct, so she threatens the Capitol, pretending she is going to commit suicide.
