  • Romulus and Remus
  • Engineering at Rome
  • The Rome city started in 700 B.C.E and ended in 476 C.E. Rome is in Italy, in southern Europe. The Italian peninsula is shaped like a boot and goes into the Mediterranean sea.
  • Sporting games
  • The princess gave birth to two twins named Romulus and Remus. The king-the princess's uncle put the two boys in some type of casket and tried to drown them. He did this because he was afraid that the boys would take over the throne. The twins didn't drown in the river and when they woke up a wolf found the two babies and took them to her cave. When the twins grew up they built homes and towns. They got into a fight on what to name the towns and they fought till Romulus killed his brother Remus. So then he named the towns Rome.
  • Rome Archticture
  • The Romans were amazing builders. They could build arches and cuniculus. The arches were on two pillars that held wedged shape stones. The cuniculus was an underground trench. The Romans were better engineers than the Etruscans.
  • The sporting events in Rome were here Chariot racing and gladioritar fights. The Chariot races would work by the driver would be strapped to the Chariot and if the horse would flip over the Chariot then the diver could go under it. The gladiator events would have to slaves fight each other till death.
  • The architecture in Rome was adapted from the Greeks. Greek architecture was a big part of the Romans. The Romans used Greek designs. They eventually figured out how to build bigger buildings.
  • Roman art mainly came from the Greeks. The art was called Greco-roman art. The Romans adopted the writing by the Greeks and used it but changed the alphabet. Like how the Greeks wrote in all capital letters the Romans would. For the region, the Romans had their own ideas for gods but it mainly came from the Greeks.
