  • Brutus's Speech Ethos
  • It is not that I loved Caesar less, but I loved Rome more
  • Brutus's Speech Pathos
  • who here is so lowly that he would willingly be a slave? If any, let him speak for I've offended hi. Who here is so barbaric he doesn't want to be a roman
  • Brutus's Speech Logos
  • Caesar loved me, I weep for him, Caesar had good fortune, so i celebrated it, Caesar was valiant, so i honored him, but Caesar was ambitious, so i killed him.
  • In this statement by Brutus he uses ethos by explaining his "love" for Caesar. Then he mentions how he loves Rome more and that is why he killed Caesar. He them persuades them by referring to the audience that Caesar would have been bad for Rome and Brutus cared more about them than his own friend.
  • Antony's Speech Ethos
  • With Brutus' permission for Brutus is an honorable man; they are all honorable men I come to speak a Caesar's funeral.
  • In this quote Brutus starts to play mind games with the crowd by using pathos. He asks them questions they both obviously know the answer to just to get them to realize how truly terrible their life would have been with Caesar. By doing this he gains their trust and respect for his decision.
  • Antony's Speech Pathos
  • You all loved Caesar once, and with good cause. What reason then is holding you back from mourning him? Oh judgement, you've fled to brutish animals while men have lost their reason! Bear with me; my heart is in the coffin with Caesar, and i must pause until it returns to me..
  • This is logos because, Brutus explains that he loved Caesar. Although his love for him was strong he knew he was ambitious. Due to his ambition he killed him. he says these facts so the audience understands why he killed him
  • Antony's Speech Logos
  • I've come to bury Caser not to praise him. The bad things men do live on after their deaths, but the good things are often buried with their bones. let that be the case with Caesar. Noble Brutus told you Caesar was ambitious. If that were true. it was a grave fault, and caesar has gravely paid for it.
  • Antony calls Brutus and the conspirators honorable men. He refers to himself as a friend of Caesar’s. However, how he uses the word honorable throughout the speech is sarcastic because they killed his friend.
  • Antony encourages the crowd to join him in mourning Caesar, and eventually. He then starts to grief. He looks down on Caesars death and is saddened the crowd isn't as upset as he is.
  • Antony acknowledges that Caesar may have been ambitious, but he urges the crowd to believe in Caesar. He tries to convince the crowd that he did good as well. He also states that this ambition is what put Caesar in the grave.
