- Hi! My name is Aaron Shyer and this is the story of my cultural heritage.
- My dad and I talked about where our family descended from and how we immigrated to the U.S.
- Here's what I learned...
- 1907 Russia
- My Great-Great Grandparents
- Hey Pauline, everyone is immigrating out of here, do you think it would be a good idea for us to?
- Yes Max! That sounds like a great idea!
- They took a boat from the U.K. to NYC in 1907 and built the Shyer family there for the next 100 years
- My great grandparents took a train to the U.K. and lived there for a couple of years.
- They lived there for a couple of years and had their 8 kids before deciding to immigrate to the U.S.
- I also had Great-Grandparents who lived in Poland during WWI and fled to the U.S. to get away from the harsh environment and better opportunities. They also took a boat to NYC and made a new life for themselves.
- Wow! I never knew that our family came from Russia and Poland! Thank you so much for sharing those stories about our heritage.
